  26. Heh, newer employees are _so_ excited to be included in the ones who work
  27. a show versus the ones who have to stay behind and watch the store. After
  28. a couple shows, the wiser ones just ask for a pass to go on their day off.
  29. It ain't as easy as it looks.. Well, at least you had a chair/stool to sit 
  30. on. ;)

  32. Anyway, JVC's projected release is late 95 / early 96.
  33. While the systems were too beta/prototype to have brochures printed yet, 
  34. the general specs were extremely close to Digital Betacam, and of course at 
  35. the meeting they showed it side-by-side against a Digital Betacam at 1, 
  36. 5, & 10 generations. Extremely clean, and of course, indistinguishable 
  37. from one another. I/O is composite, Y/C, component, and serial digital 
  38. I/O. Suggested price was under $20k, so that would be about 1/2 the cost 
  39. of Digital Betacam. One of the feeder decks would also play standard 
  40. S/SVHS tapes in addition to the metal digital tapes. And of course their 
  41. dockable KY-27 camera only required a new docking recorder to be up and 
  42. running in digital mode.
